There are rumblings everywhere regarding managers at various clubs, or perhaps the possibility there won’t be one – manager that is. No one seems to have learned anything from Newcastle’s lack of leadership – or wins.
Speaking of Newcastle, there are more murmurs over their manager than any other club this morning. The latest in the market is Terry Venables. The much traveled former English and Australian manager has been backed from 20/1 into evens with William Hill after holding discussions with club officials. Kevin Keegan is still well supported at 6/4 second pick with Poyet, Bruce and Shearer all under 15/1.
The other interest in manager football betting of course is who will be next to go. Carling Cup eliminations along with poor general form has seen muttering about several managers. It must be strange to be a manager and to start to read reports of you own demise. Of course some will sack themselves.
West Brom manager Gary Megson heads the betting at 7/2 as the next manager to go. I think others may be in more strife yet. Tottenham manager Juande Ramos is second pick at 4/1. Spurs will need to win this weekend to ease any pressure on his back.
Everton manager David Moyes has yet to resign his contract so don’t be surprised if he just walk away. He is 9/2 third pick to pack his bags and move on. Harry Redknapp rounds out the top four at 13/2 to leave following a total of 14 goals to nil in three matches.
At 13/2, Redknapp looks to be good value. Having taken Pompey to the FA Cup final last season, a shocking to start to this season has really burst his bubble.
William Hill is one of UK’s top bookmakers and they have a £10 free bet special offer at present – but then they do offer some good odds on the manager movement at present.
