Betting systems have been around for almost as long as betting itself. In fact, most gamblers have ‘their system’ and they will swear that it works. They are not millionaires, but their system ‘works’.
The problem with betting systems, particularly those that declare they are foolproof and that ‘everyone’ will win using the system is in reality, not possible. If someone was able to find a foolproof system that selected winners at a high enough percentage to win using flat stakes, then they would be crazy to give it away, or even sell it.
The reality is they would make more money using the system than selling it. If you look closely at some of those selling these betting systems, they often even admit that. But they say they are trying to ’share’ their good fortune. The reality is, they are trying to get their hands on your money.
Most betting systems are probably well intentioned, however in the long run they are no better than the system you currently use, even if it is a hat pin.
If a betting system could be found that made a good profit over time, the gambling industry would end up crippled, or at the very least, the betting system would be crippled by its own success.
Anything that can be proven to work, and work well will be popular. If I started selling a system that had a good hit rate, people would flock to buy it. However, the more people who use my system, and the more successful it is would result in more people backing the same number.
If you look at a horse race for example, if there are ten starters and I identify number four as the most likely winner, every one will back number four. Rather than starting at 3/1 or 4/1 – it will start short priced, perhaps at odds of 1/2 or worse. Now the system is going to fail. With those odds you need a success rate of more than 66% to come out in front.
Use your own system, if it works, keep it to yourself and enjoy the successes. The moment you share it the value of your returns will slowly start to come down. Betting systems are generally for the desperate – not the educated punter.
