Badugi. It’s poker, but not necessarily as we know it. Badugi, also known as Badougi or Padooki, Is a variant of draw poker. It differs from the more traditional poker game in that player have four cards instead of the usual five.

There are three drawing rounds. During the rounds, players can trade their cards, either none or up to four, and receive new cards. The aim of doing this is to get a better hand. Of course, the player also runs the risk of ending up with a much worse hand!

Players of Badugi are playing for the pot. The pot, of course, is the amount of money that all the players, including the ultimate winner, contributes to the game by bidding. Basically, the winner is the last man (or woman) standing, or left playing at showdown, or the end..

Badugi is believed to have originated in Asia. It ios steadily gaining popularity in the USA and other western countries. The popularity of Badugi is probably more likely to be a result of the overall popularity of poker, and the need to continually find something new About the game. Over the past ten years or more, poker and other card games, have become surprisingly popular, and continue to be so. Check out the poker situation here.

If you like poker you’ll love Badugi. The players receive 4 cards each then the betting begins. Betting amounts depend on the version of Badugi players are playing and pot limits. The players play three rounds of play. Each better in turn calls the bet, raises, folds, or checks. Then each player is given an opportunity to draw from 0 to 4 cards. That ends round 1.

Round 2 continues with each player betting again then given another opportunity to draw from 0 to 4 cards. In round 3, players bet with the betting increment being the high stake (in the previous two rounds the betting increment was low stakes). After the third bet each player is given another opportunity to draw cards and the deck is reshuffled. Finally, players bet again using high stake betting increments. Just like in Texas Hold’em, players show their cards and the high hand wins the pot.

Badugi is an exciting game to play and bet on. Like Hold’em, the pots can get pretty big and the winner can walk home (or to the bed) with a big smile on his face.
